This novel is the first in a series titled Humanity's Second Chance. The year is 2190. The main character, Kayleen, is a 19-year-old woman who has chosen to accept a mission that will help to heal the Earth. With her uncanny connection to the Earth and with nanobots created by her grandmother, she journeys from Philadelphia to Ireland, the land of her Moran ancestors, to heal a rift between the Earth and humanity that may have been created by rebels from a rival clan. Kayleen strives to protect the sentient Earth, a being who has worked with the nanobots to heal both humanity and Her own planetary body. To accomplish her mission and to further discover her role in the restoration of humanity's bond with Earth, Kayleen is aided by both human and mythical allies. Along the way, Kayleen forms a strong bond with the young men who accompany her on her journey, opening the door to a future of second chances, not only for humanity as a whole but also for herself.
