The Dream Reprisal (A Paean to Dreams, Book IV)

Tagesreste, the final dream, gives the dreamers who are left an infinite reality; the ideal of transcendence, which the dreams have been leading towards, can only be found within its endless expanse. It is the final dream world envisioned by the Stone and the First Dreamer. It is also where selfishness battles altruism; where regret becomes a weighted anchor, dragging down all those mired in it; and where unbridled freedom comes at a heavy price. The First Dreamer and the Cosmopolitan find themselves in a reality that neither of them are prepared for, and as they journey further into the promised land, they'll discover the true nature of the Stone and of its Creator. What awaits them in this transcended reality is an ultimatum: To end the dream completely, or give in and be consumed by it.
