Birth of a Sage (Sages of the New World)

The Creator and the Destroyer fight the endless war between good and evil and Garrick El D’Jara is right in the middle of it. God of the firmaments and maker of the Ancient world and the New World, the Creator conceals Garrick at his birth from the eyes of the destroyer. Lord of the Hades and the archenemy of every living thing, the Destroyer seeks Garrick to gain his freedom from his dark home. When the Creator’s protective spell around Garrick is broken, he is thrown into the New World with no memory of his past. The Manderas of Telem, servants of the Creator, lure him and manipulate him to use his powers for their cause. In the process of helping them, Garrick discovers that he is the most powerful wizard to ever have existed. He possesses both the Creator’s white magic and the Destroyer’s black magic. Much to the Manderas’ horror, Garrick discovers his true purpose in life: He is the new black Sage of the New World and the moral that is to free the Destroyer from the Hades. But first, Garrick must aid the Manderas in order to remember his past. Even though Garrick falls in love with the Head Mandera, he must perform the Serpent’s ritual to secure his master’s freedom. Garrick goes in search of the seven stones of the serpent. It is a race between the servants of the Creator and those of the Destroyer, a race that takes them across the New World, from the landlocked volcano of Belethra to the snow mountains of Athlai, from the temple of Convergence in Hara D’Sara to the shores of Kadaiah, a race full of danger, lined with deception, and punctured with betrayal. Garrick must find out if his heart is indeed as black as the master he serves, or if something good can be found in the most powerful black Sage of the New World. Does the Creator have enough power to transform the Destroyer’s most faithful servant into a server of the light?
