Her unconventional heroine launches a quest for love, power and money in the post-Soviet world of high voltage technology, chasing after the wrong men, trusting the wrong people, and drinking much too much vodka on the wrong occasions. The author personally visited every location mentioned in the book and most of her heroine's encounters are factual, with only the names being changed and a few fictional scenes added or facts sometimes exaggerated solely for the sake of entertainment. Kelly-Bruss herself posed for the cover photo, wearing the same boots and carrying the same Swiss handbag which faithfully accompanied her on her Russian travels.
