Cancer to Coma...my journey is a searingly honest account of living with a rare form of bone cancer known as Osteosarcoma, charting the course of the disease from the onset of mysterious pain to full diagnosis and treatment. The author’s unflinching strength and dogged refusal to concede ground in this war is a touching and an inspiring testament to the indomitable will of the human spirit. Ciara’s personal chronicle also contains contributions from a number of eminent medical professionals in Ireland, to give a full picture of a disease that affects only 10 people nationally each year. It is the author’s hope that this book will help to raise awareness of this disease. The proceeds from the sale of this book are being divided equally between Kerry General Hospital and Osteosarcoma research as per Ciara’s wishes.
