Seraphic Addiction

Laura's present anthology is a combination of rather interrelated poems, fictitious short stories, 'poetic' and philosophical prose. The poems are inspired by music, art, literature, people she got to know in multifaceted ways, their psyche, her experiences and dialogues with them, events that took place and the emotions they triggered and history. Some deal with violence, crimes, rape, abuse in various forms, hope, lust, disappointments, loss, death, victimisation, destruction of binary oppositions and 'typical' gender roles and they deeply focus on the inner life of human sexuality combined with thoughts about the essence of beauty and obsessive attraction and intertwining with various senses. The short stories concentrate more sharply on totalitarian systems, the importance of free-thinking, the wrongful hatred towards homosexuality, transsexuality etc, despair and love, crisis and death, life-altering decisions, perversion of the proper character, sexual hypocrisy and savage behaviour, society, its preconceptions and stereotypical codes, humanity observed from every single angle, darkness of suppressed impulses, survival after traumata, dreams, finding strength through art, doomed relationships, murder and depravation and what one should fight for in life.
