Guy Baxter isn’t your typical twenty-something CEO. In fact, he barely graduated from college. Lucky for him he’s always had a gift for schmoozing and a vague feeling he’s destined for greatness. He can’t resist the fifteen minutes of fame that selling shares in himself on the stock exchange brings. When his prospects soar, Guy, Inc. shoots up; when they drop, it tanks. It’s at the bottom that Ivan Vissar, entrepreneur and modern day Gatsby, swoops in and rescues Guy, offering him the opportunity of a lifetime. Vissar takes Guy under his wing and makes him part owner of an Internet startup. With the Internet boom sending the stock market to frenzied heights, Guy ignores all the warning signs, including Vissar’s mysterious background and penchant for gambling. Only in the inevitable crash of the Internet boom does Guy discover Vissar’s secret and realize that success often comes at a price too high to bear.
