📖 Description
DEAF-MUTE (2009) sketches Adolf Wolfram zu Sassnitz’s path of life, from the German university town of Greifswald, where he was born in the thirties, via Berlin and the Eastern Front, to Wiesbaden, Amsterdam, Firenze, international waters, and finally Israel. Due in part to the inability of his parents’ generation to face the terrible events of the Second World War, the main character struggles with his past. Living between imagination and reality, he desperately tries to cope with his sense of alienation. In this book the author attempts to come to grips with his own war past from the point of view of the other.
