An early-morning car accident threatens to unravel the lives of many. Jefferson Beale, a former minister, heads up a non-profit that helps impoverished families in third world countries. While his wife is away, he spends the evening with a female escort half his age. On his way home, he runs over someone riding a bicycle. He can stop and help the injured person, certain to ruin his life, or he can leave the scene. When Jefferson drives away, the injured bike rider, Terry Larson, calls his boss, Colin Henry, for help.
