Sunset Under the Poet's Tree

Lois Ann Anderson overcame many obstacles to rise above the ordinary before breast cancer entered her life. Over the last six months of her life, I started a fictional story to escape the realities of losing her. It was an alternate world where her lifetime made sense of our unpredictable world. Sunset under the Poet's Tree was written using my perceptions of the events steering Lois's life. After she died, chronicling her biography and completing the fictional one represented a process of coming to terms with her death and a promise to "not let her be forgotten" She was nationally known as a breast cancer advocate, surviving eighteen years with the disease.
