Adult Learning Assessment in Higher Education Mass Media Production

Social scientists, instructors and institutions use the techniques of assessment and interpretation to measure attitudes, behaviors, emotions and personalities. Whatever the focus and format, the basic purpose of an assessment and interpretation is to determine what learners want and need to learn and improve learning. The purpose of developing assessment for adult learners in higher education courses is to determine how well learners are learning. There has been conflicting notion that the most dominant form of instruction is pedagogy, referred to as traditional or teacher-directed study. Andragogy is the competing idea in terms of instructing adult learners and recently has gathered momentum. The increase in racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity in higher education is reflected in many classrooms. Diversity with practice is complicated, confusing, and dynamic, and for some classroom instructors’ it is burdened with uneasiness, difficulty, and discomfort. The concepts of assessment in media production in higher education institutions are Formative, Summative, Setting Targets, Writing Objectives, Reliability and Validity.
