My motivation for writing this book is to get you to be angry with poverty. This will required that you take your stand against poverty. As you read through this book, something will spark within your bones that will make you think. You will think and think and work your way out of poverty. Let the truth be told, you have a real enemy. You have an enemy called poverty and you must do everything with the help of God to obliterate its influence in your life. Poverty may not kill you but it will turn you into a nonentity. What do you do with an enemy that turns you to a nobody? You don’t play with poverty; you get angry and turn your face against it. Let me share this testimony with you. You will like because it will fuel your anger. Few years ago, I used to live in a village. In that village there was neither electricity nor running water. Just as I was about rounding up my stay in that village, a young man came to me with his dog. The dog had a broken foot. This young man said to me ‘sir, I don’t have a job. I want to give this dog to you so that you can take care of it’. He said he couldn’t feed the dog because he is poor so the dog always goes to the bush to look for food, in the process the dog had a broken foot. This young man asked me to take this dog and take care of it. I told him that I was about to leave the village and so I will not be able to take the dog from him. As we finished our discussion and this man was about to leave my house, something happened that really changed my life. As the man made attempt to take the dog away, the dog suddenly ran to me and began to lap my hands. As this young chap was calling his dog, the dog refused to go to him. The dog decided to stay with me. I was looking at the drama happening. As he moved closer to the dog, his dog ran away from him. The dog doesn’t want to go with him again. It came to me and was panting at me like my daughter used to do. Then I began to think on what has just happened. Dogs are known as animals of love. Why is it that this dog refuses to go with its owner? Then the light came to me that even animals hate pains. Animals hate poor people. This dog knows that its owner is poor. The dog does not want to go back and live with his poor owner again. It was then the truth of the Book of Proverbs came alive to me. Proverbs 14:20 “The poor man is hated even by his own neighbour, but the rich has many friends.” The poor is hated not only by his neighbours but also by his dog. It is therefore imperative that you do everything legitimately possible to quit the poverty club so that you don’t have your neighbours and animals hate you. You see, you don’t have to be disturbing your neighbour everyday going to them to ask for one thing or the other that will make them to dislike you because you have become a nuisance to them. There is an African proverb which says “Sharing food is not sweet if one person is the one providing the food all the time”. I pray for you that after you finished reading this book, you will decide never to be poor again in Jesus name.
