Full Circle

The woman shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts. She took the stone disk out of her pocket and looked at it. The thought growing in her mind was both exciting and frightening. Could it be that she was in 2055? When the Quinns moved from Raleigh, North Carolina to San Antonio, Texas, Rae finds the adjustment from successful counselor to stay-at-home mom harder than she expected. Then Brandan decides to hire a nanny for their two-year-old daughter and her life closes in around her even more. At their spring garden party, Rae receives a unique hostess gift, a Mayan calendar found by amateur caver Sandy Hayes. The relic sparks Rae’s interest in caving and she decides to explore the network of underground karst crawlways on their property. She takes the calendar with her for inspiration, and finds it changes her life forever. When she returns, she can find no evidence of the small town of Gatlin that sits below the other end of the tunnel. She returns through the cave often, straddling two lifetimes, until a decision must be made.
