Spiraling: The Forgotten

The spiral birthmark over her heart marks Kira Taylor with the potential to become one of the Gifted, a group of people graced with supernatural powers that “Gift” them. Only, once an individual fully becomes Gifted, the rest of the normal human world forgets him or her. These Gifted individuals are left to live among us, going about their lives as they please regardless of federal laws or municipal rules-since no one can pay much attention to someone they instantly forget. One of the Gifted prophesized that the Gifted legacy would end with the Railey twins, yet a year after their birth Kira entered the world with the Gifted mark. Unbeknownst of the supernatural, sixteen years later, one minute Kira Taylor is relaxing on the sofa in her house and in the next moment the world around her has disappeared into a black oblivion as she is kidnapped by the Scorned, the moral antithesis of the Gifted. When Kira awakes again in an abandoned warehouse, she has entered the world of the Gifted. Kira must forget her old life, her family, and her friends-as they have forgotten her. She must attempt to establish the Gifted mansion as her new home, where she is allowed to stay, with other Gifted teens. However Kira’s biggest challenge will not be mastering the elements of nature but learning to cope with the grief and loss surrounding her and searching for reasons to find happiness in this world that parallels on the verge of a fit of madness.
