A Life Unencumbered

A pandemic of large proportions strikes the earth, wiping out a large volume of the population in a very short time. No matter what the CDC does, a cure cannot be found. Anna wakes the morning before she must return to work after a three week vacation. Finding that yet again her paper has not been delivered, she makes coffee and decides to turn on the TV for the first time in weeks. What she hears shocks her...a newscaster talking of more than half the world's population being wiped out by a mystery flu, the same flu she took vacation to avoid when it started getting bad in the office. More than half the world's population! So begins the story of Anna's survival in a world that has drastically changed. Neighbors have disappeared, the sound of silence in the streets in eerie. In her search for food she meets Rick and his group, all survivors banding together trying to survive, and she joins them. Soon their fight for food, shelter, and their very lives begins. This is a new world, a world where only the strong survive.
