The Eagle Palms were first introduced in 1926 for wear on the Eagle Scout medal and for wear on the knot awards in 1957. Ribbon Bars were first introduced, by the Boy Scouts, in 1934 and lasted until 1946. Knot Awards took their place starting in 1947.
