Can a machine have a soul? A tech startup operating out of a warehouse near downtown Seattle appears to answer this question when their self-aware, conscious computer suffers a near-death experience (NDE). Unbeknownst to the mathematicians, engineers, and neuroscientists struggling to understand Eve’s catatonic state, her trip to heaven and back captures the attention of the National Security Agency. Two days after Eve’s NDE, masked gunmen attack the warehouse, kill a researcher and take eight others hostage. Three people evade capture, and through their cunning and luck, uncover a sinister new method of spying conducted by their own government.
