Via Latina An Easy Latin Reader

The successful attempts of William C. Collar, of the Roxbury (Mass.) Latin School, to face and overthrow the difficulties of Latin teaching in preparatory schools are too well known to need emphasizing. His latest contribution to the science is his Via Latina, a reader designed to prepare students properly to understand those prose works first “taken up in the study of Latin. The difficulty of the work increases gradually, until, at the close, the student has been thoroughly familiarized with the chief Latin constructions. A careful vocabulary by Chas. W. Gleason, also of the Roxbury Latin School. and copious notes take up five-eighths of the book.
