Description
The tribulation (i.e. the apocalypse) is divided into two parts: the first part occurs during this generation and the second part occurs in the distant future. During the first part of the tribulation many difficulties trouble the whole world -- war, civil unrest, famine, death from a variety of causes. But the last afflictions of this part of the tribulation are even more severe. Then all of these sufferings culminate with the most severe event of the first part of the tribulation: the Three Days of Darkness. An understanding of this event can be found in Sacred Scripture, if it is read with faith. Many Saints and other holy persons also prophesied about this future affliction. Even the Blessed Virgin Mary, in the apparitions at La Salette, spoke about this terrible event and the many deaths that would result. And so both Divine Revelation and private revelation can inform us about the Three Days of Darkness. After the Three Days of Darkness, all is not lost. Immediately, a time of great peace and holiness ensues, and the survivors rebuild society, in devout fear of God. For the Three Days of Darkness is the last event of the first part of the tribulation, after which occurs a brief time of peace, lasting about 25 years. This time of peace is the beginning of the inter-tribulation period. This booklet is divided into three sections: (1) The Three Days of Darkness in Sacred Scripture, (2) The Three Days of Darkness in Private Revelation, (3) A Brief Time of Peace, Holiness, and Rebuilding. This booklet is based on the author's longer work, entitled: The First Part of the Tribulation. Ronald L. Conte Jr. is the translator of the Catholic Public Domain Version of the Bible, and the author of several works of Roman Catholic eschatology. His other books cover diverse subjects in theology, including Mariology, Biblical chronology, ethics, and other topics.
