Description

The career military man and retired general Carlos Julio Pe aloza saw combat against the Castro-Communist urban and rural guerrillas in the 1960s in Venezuela. In 1984 being Superintendent of the Venezuelan Military Academy he discovered and denounced Chavez, but the Army s chiefs protected him. In 1989 being the Venezuelan Army s Chief of Staff he detained Hugo Ch vez for conspiring against the State, but President Carlos Andr s P rez ordered to free him. Two years later Ch vez led the failed 4F coup d tat. In his first book El Imperio de Fidel, or Fidel s empire the author relates the meddling of Fidel Castro in Venezuela until 1968, and in this his second book, the narratives takes us up to the failed coup attempt of February 4, 1992. This coup was a product of the Foro de Sao Paulo conspiracy hatched by Lula Da Silva and Fidel Castro Ch vez was made-to-order by Fidel Castro and by other communist artisans such as Douglas Bravo and Al Rodr guez Araque who collaborated together with Venezuelan politicians and military chiefs who created, protected and developed his public persona. President Nicolas Maduro s appearance in the plot is described. The crucial role of ex-president Rafael Caldera is exposed. Ch vez was the product of his thirst for power powerfully spurred by his eloquence and charisma. About the book Carlos Alberto Montaner, journalist and writer gave his opinion as follows: General Pe aloza has written a book about Ch vez and Fidel that is indispensable to understand how and why Venezuela has become an exploited Cuban colony and guinea pig for the Forum of Sao Paulo. The research is impeccable and substantial, which makes it valuable not only for Cubans and Venezuelans. Pe aloza was Chief of the Venezuelan Army having access to top secret intelligence reports. If Carlos Andr s P rez had listened to him, the history of Venezuela would be different. This is one of those works that will endure through time. Carlos Alberto Montaner, writer and journalist.
