The Call to Radical Discipleship: A Study of Matthew 5-7

The Lord God said in Jeremiah 6:16, “…ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will have rest for your souls...” The Sermon on the Mount is the ancient path that Jesus presented to His disciples over 2000 years ago. It is a devotional classic. For centuries, multiplied thousands of people have drawn strength from its insights and witness to its value. This great sermon has stood the test of time. Deep and greatly challenging, each phrase is pregnant with meaning. We believe that the very best tool to use in becoming a disciple, making disciples, and training spiritual leaders is the Sermon on the Mount. In these three chapters, Jesus gave clear teaching on the character and conduct of the kingdom of God. He tells us exactly what God expects of those who are called by His name and are His representatives. Salvation is free, but being the Lord’s disciple will cost us everything. If we will dare to pay the price, we will gain everything that truly and eternally matters.
