Description
This book takes us into the Celtic world at the beginning of the first century before the common era and before the conquest of Gaul by the Roman Emperor, Gaius Julius Caesar. We experience the life and adventures of a Druid’s daughter, Rigani, who falls in love with the young king of the mysterious ancient people, the Tuatha Dé Danann in Ireland and manages to save the remnants of his tribe. Through this she has access to the old knowledge, and experiences a world of magic and unusual lifestyles. After being seriously wounded in a fight, her lover disappears - to an island in the West. Now she travels across Europe with her little son. First she visits the old Druid centers in Gaul, where she acquires a lot of knowledge. Then, she travels to the Celtic peoples of the East, to care for her sick father. Here she finds herself in the midst of a turmoil, caused by the invading Germanic tribes. She becomes the wife of the commander of an Alanian-Sarmatian cavalry, which the Celts called upon for help. With him, she travels East to the steppes north of the Black Sea which are dominated by the Sarmatians and visits the trading towns on its coast which were founded by the Greeks. There she has a profound spiritual experience at the ancient religious rituals of the East and returns via Athens and the Mediterranean, which, belonged to the Roman Empire, to her father. She loses her husband in a renewed battle. Suddenly she is confronted with her first love and the father of her son. Will she now return to Ireland?
