Dogs Along The Way: The yearlong odyssey in the life of an apprentice dog trainer

Dogs along the Way chronicles the odyssey of a middle-aged man who participates in a yearlong dog training apprenticeship that will change his life forever, offering a unique glimpse into the wonderful world of dogs, as seen through the eyes of author J. G. Crook.

Under the direction of former military working dog handler and trainer Greg Conner, Crook and four other dog enthusiasts of diverse ages and backgrounds dedicate themselves to completing assignments and challenges ranging from attending lectures to cleaning kennels to volunteering at animal shelters and rescue foundations.

As the apprentices bond with their four-legged charges and each other, they discover they have more to learn about themselves from their furry friends, whether pedigreed or pound puppy, than they could ever have imagined.
