Feeding Dreams, One Meal at a Time: A Brief Story of Akshaya Patra

The Akshaya Patra Foundation was initiated in the year 2000, with the goal of ending classroom hunger in India's schoolchildren. The nonprofit organization, based in Bangalore, India, prepares and delivers warm, nutritious meals to over 1.4 million schoolchildren everyday and has been recognized globally for its efforts. This book was written by current high school senior Jayati Sharma, who completed a self-designed internship with Akshaya Patra during the summer of 2015. It aims to relay the growth of Akshaya Patra’s mission, current operations, and future plans for expansion.
