Dolly has just started the third form. It’s September 1980 and her main aims are to get a boyfriend and some pixie boots.
With her close group of friends, she embarks on a bittersweet learning curve that sees the girls abandoning childhood and the boys chasing to keep up.
Being bilingual gives Dolly a big advantage in French lessons but in no time at all, it’s an advantage that she’d do anything to lose.
