Psalm 32: The Joy of Forgiving

This is a testimony about true renewal and my journey to find my place with God. After a downward spiral of alcoholism, memories of childhood abuse and never-ending suicidal thoughts since a young girl, I decided there had to be something more to this life. I ended up on my knees asking God, "Why me?" Sometimes we have to let go of everything in this world to find ourselves and learn to put our trust in Him. The alcohol and abuse had been passed down in our family for several generations. I decided to break these chains through fasting and prayer so this would not be passed down to my two beautiful daughters. This would take me changing almost everything around me. In this process I found the most amazing peace and joy of knowing our personal Saviour. After God told me to, "Read Psalm 32", I realized I already had His forgiveness for all the wrong choices I had made throughout my life. I just needed to forgive myself and others. God has completly changed me and my heart forever! My faith in Him is growing each and every day and will never be shaken! He mended my broken-hearted spirit and gave me a new heart through complete renewal and deliverance. Nothing excited me more than His love and living for Him. And He's right beside me and I'm overwhelmed with His joy!
