Tarzan of the Apes

Edgar Rice Burroughs was an American author best known for writing the classic Tarzan and John Carter stories. Burroughs was a prolific writer in many different genres and many of his books have been made into films. Tarzan of the Apes is the first novel in the Tarzan series. The book tells the story of John Clayton III. Clayton's parents died when he was an infant and he was then adopted by a she-ape named Kala. Clayton is renamed Tarzan and the legend begins.
