Description

This book is aimed at the 7 million+ adult (over age 25) college students who are trying to balance their employment, finances, family life and social life while still pursuing their college education on a part-time basis. The book is the result of my personal experience in going to college as an adult and extensive interviews with a number of adult students, plus teachers, advisers and administrators who work with adult students. The book's 31 chapters cover such important topics as personal organization, financing and budgeting, time management, course selection, non-classroom-based ways to earn college credit, dealing with the college bureaucracy, learning styles, note taking, writing, campus resources and many other subjects of interest to the adult student. An extensive reference section allows the student to access a large number of other sources of information, both in print and on the web.

This is the book that I couldn't find when I was an adult college student, and it answers all of the questions that I had and reviews all of the (many) mistakes I made during my 15 year trip to a bachelor's degree. The content of the book was driven by my personal experiences and the suggestions of all of the adult students that I interviewed in depth.

The book is written in a straightforward, easy-to-read style, and is organized to cover the topics most potential students ask in the order that they ask them. It is being stocked by a number of college bookstores in my goegraphic area and I am trying to expand that market.

The book is brand new and has not been reviewed by anyone yet. I can probably get it reviewed by several of my college friends if it is possible to return to this form and enter the reviews later. Please advise me on this.
