This volume is based on a collection of undergraduate experiments and projects developed at universities, polytechnics and schools exhibited at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). These experiments have been performed by many students over a period of several years. Consequently they have been well tested and can be recommended to any undergraduate laboratory.
