IMAGINING FAME

Chaucer wrote the House of Fame before he wrote The Canterbury Tales. It is a wild ride, part religious, part fantasy. It explores and reveals much about the philosophy of the time, and Prescott's presentation reveals the pleasure to be found in reading it. She illuminates Chaucer's musical style, his sense of humor, his gift for adventurous storytelling.
