ABOUT THE USING PRIMARY LITERATURE TO ENCOURAGE CREATIVE THINKING AND WRITING SERIES: Beloved tales, including several Caldecott Medal winners, are the basis for activities to improve reading and writing skills and to encourage critical and creative thinking. There are a total of 40 literature units, 10 per book! Each unit begins with a series of discussion questions based upon Blooms Taxonomy. Following these questions are project ideas developed to encourage creative thinking and writing. Charming illustrations and stimulating activities motivate youngsters. Grades 14. The books used are Where the Wild Things Are, The Popcorn Dragon, Hershel & the Hanukkah Goblins, Princess Furball, Sylvester and the Magic Pebble, Magic Growing Powder, The Paper Bag Princess, Alexander & the Wind-up Mouse, The Snow Child, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.
