Compass Drawings: Construction designs using a compass and a ruler (Grades 4-6)

Compass Drawings teaches students to understand and apply the vocabulary of geometry. Students use the tools and appreciate the beauty of geometry. They follow directions to construct designs. Students develop spatial awareness and view geometry as active mathematics. Special Features: Compass Drawings includes teaching strategies, and the 34 lessons are in two sections. Lessons 1-12 introduce terminology and provide practice in using a compass, measuring, and finding the center of the paper. Lessons 13-34 are advanced lessons in constructing geometric designs.
