Geometry and Analysis, No. 1 (volume 17 of the Advanced Lectures in Mathematics series)

Presented herein are parts 1 and 2 of a collection of substantial papers presented by distinguished speakers at the conference 'Geometric Analysis: Present and Future,' held at Harvard University in 2008. Among the speakers were Edward Witten, Yum-Tong Siu, Richard Hamilton, Nigel Hitchin, Blaine Lawson, Andrew Strominger, Cumrun Vafa, Wilfried Schmid, Victor Guillemin, Ngaiming Mok, and Demetrios Christodoulou. Also included is an overview of the works of Shing-Tung Yau. This volume serves well as both a reference and up-to-date summary of geometric analysis and its applications to many different areas of mathematics.
