A Shadow of Doubt

When the priceless royal scepter of Egyptian Queen Cleopatra is stolen from its exhibit at the Pyramid in Memphis, Lindsay Yates finds herself charged with the crime. Not only is the valuable artifact missing, but two security guards were also killed during the heist. Investigators have amassed such convincing evidence against Lindsay that she even doubts herself at times. Joey Buchanan, arrested at the scene, claims to be her accomplice and identifies her as the mastermind behind the heist. Authorities have also acquired a video of the crime as well as blood and hair samples that seemingly prove Lindsay’s guilt. Mark Reed, an inexperienced lawyer, takes on the overwhelming task of defending Lindsay. Mark doubts his ability to get Lindsay acquitted, but he is unwilling to give up and allow her to face the death penalty. Through his efforts to help Lindsay, Mark exposes political corruption, greed, and bribery.
