The Beginning Line

A grieving young widow and an embittered widower meet one October night in the cemetery. Almost immediately, they find themselves in a heated discussion. Their debate is centered around the question of which is worse: to lose someone suddenly or to be forced to watch the person you love die slowly. Ken Wells and Gloria Taylor have no choice but to learn to depend on each other. They share a common knowledge and experience that pulls them together with a force neither has the strength to deny. Gloria is a teacher who throws herself into her work to survive. Ken sees himself as her mentor, the older brother who can guide Gloria through the process of her mourning. Along the way, they realize that loving anyone means risking the chance of losing them. But in the meantime, in this lifetime, finding love is a reason to live.
