Foreigner: In the Shadow of the Square

FOREIGNER is the story of John Matthews, an American who finds adventure in China during the spring of 1989. In the midst of the poverty, squalor, and political oppression that plagues the lives of the Chinese people, he becomes caught up in the Chinese military's brutal assault on the demonstrators in Tiananmen Square. When the military discovers he has helped a wounded leader of the demonstrators escape from Beijing, an extraordinary Chinese woman befriends him in his desperate attempt to evade capture and get out of the country.
