In January, 1956, the world was staggered to hear that five young missionaries of Christ had been annihilated by the spears of tribal Indians in Ecuador. One life laid down was that of Peter Fleming.
Pete had learned to live the life of faith. As he comprehended the power of God in his daily walk, he penned in his personal diary many of his soul s struggles. Some of these comments are self-critical, many are triumphant and Christ-glorifying.
In the foresight and providence of God, these chronicles have been preserved. Now Pete s brother, Ken Fleming, has compiled the contents of these diaries, plus numerous personal letters written by his brother.
Collectively they reveal in an exceptional way the spiritual maturation of this man of God. Of few Christian pacesetters is it possible to discern how they developed as Peter Fleming did.
