Over The Asp's Hole begins with the banishment of a newborn because of her deformity. The consequences of this act are alternatively horrible and wondrous, sad and joyous, constricting and liberating. The story at its surface provides a commentary on, or perhaps a reminder of the thinness of prideful existance and the stoutness of faithful lives lived in service of others. It also reminds us of the enormous worth potential of every human being regardless of the context which fate has imposed on one's existance, as well as the equally enormous potential for not only losing, but desecrating fateful advantages.
