Word Family Games: Centers for Up to 6 Players, Level A, Grades K-2

A great resource for ELL! Each level of Word Family Games: Centers for Up to 6 Players contains 7 full-color games covering 16 word families. The difficulty level increases from one level to the next:

*Level A -- short vowel (CVC) words
*Level B -- short vowel words, many with ending blends and digraphs
*Level C -- words with long vowel-silent e and easy long vowel digraphs
*Level D -- words with harder vowel digraphs and vowel-consonant combinations
Teachers can choose the level(s) their students need. Familiar game formats motivate students to play again and again -- and practice leads to increased reading fluency.

With game boards for 6 players, use is flexible, accommodating groups of various sizes. The game board backs have picture dictionaries that provide visual clues to words -- especially valuable for ELLs.

Each game has two reproducible activity pages that provide practice using the word family words in context. Teachers may use these pages to extend the phonics practice or to provide an informal skill assessment.
