Dark-Hearted: Poetry from the Dark Side of the Heart

Every day is followed by night, every light accompanied by shadows. One cannot exist without the other. And yet, most poetry books include only those poems that cover the lighter side of life: friendship, love, romance, patriotism, happiness, faith. To remedy that imbalance, let’s take a walk on the other side. Reading these poems won’t lift your heart or make you proud. We aren’t headed to anyone’s version of a happy place. Our journey is into the depths of human existence, and to the dark side of the heart.
