Edification and Beauty describes the practices of the Particular Baptist churches at the end of the seventeenth century in terms of three concentric circles: at the center is the ecclesiological material in the Second London Confession, which is then fleshed out in the various published writings of the men associated with these churches and finally, expressed in the church books of the era.
