New Findings in Vascular Surgery

Vascular health care delivery is rapidly changing and this is no more apparent than in the area of carotid artery diseases. Results of the five-year nationally randomized study, CREST (Carotid Revascularization Endarterectomy vs. Stenting Trial) will be discussed. New Findings in Vascular Surgery will also cover a large array of topics including new ways to treat hypertension, the use of percutaneous techniques to treat peripheral arterial disease, the role of beta blockers in perioperative mortality, and the metabolic syndrome complex biologic process. Congenital anomaly diseases such as vascular malformations, unusual varicose veins, and vascular diseases in the young will also be reviewed.
