Gasification: Chemistry, Processes and Applications (Energy Science, Engineering and Technology)

This book presents current research in the study of the chemistry, processes and application of gasification processes. Topics discussed include experimental activities in a flexible gasification pilot plant; water gas shift and membrane reactor studies for the production of a hydrogen-rich stream in steam-oxygen gasification processes; the development of a dynamic model for a stratified downdraft wood gasifier; gasification of biomass for the production of syngas with reduced tar formation; and, the System Biomass Gasifier and its operation and the study of the catalytic effect of magnetite in the gasification of chars from lignite/rubber mixtures.
