Description
The U. S. prison system has a population of 2,319,258 inmates. That means there are that many families affected by the poor choices of their loved one who is incarcerated. When the offenders are sentenced, the family is also. The families impacted by prodigals who are addicted to substances are impossible to number. This book was written to give those families hope and encouragement to never give up on their prodigal. There is a lot of shame, grief, and self blaming when a child chooses to walk away from the Father's will and purpose for his/her life. Hopefully this writing will help you realize that the prodigal is ultimately running from God. The enemy would like nothing more than to kill, steal, and destroy the child. We as parents must stand in the gap for their very souls with the hope that they will one day return from the enemies camp. This book demonstrates how God worked in the author to tear down prejudices, judgemental attitudes, pride, and self-centeredness, to bring her into an intimate relationship with Him. It also shows how God's Word spoke to her through her journey with a prodigal and other family tragedies. God's Word actually helped her take her next breath at times. God's promises enabled her to persevere in the long struggle. He also taught her many lessons of His provision in the midst of the heartache. The goal of the book is to empower individuals not to be defined by their experience, but to grow in their relationship with Christ. After all, God's ultimate goal is to change the one going through the trial into His image. It is in the valley's we grow spiritually if we choose to cooperate with Him. He wants us to come out on the other side showing forth His glory. He also asks us to comfort others the way He comforted us.
