Recently fired from her position as a public school teacher for repeated absences due to her duties as a midwife, she finds herself waiting for inspiration. Nurtured by the unconditional love of her eminently proud Grandma Jones and stirred by her family's rich and historic connection to the American Civil Rights Movement and the African nation of Liberia, Zenobia yearns to go back to her symbolic homeland and make her mark.
