Description
This book is a result of a deep and constant research into the life and achievements of Buddha. Unlike Jesus, Buddha was born and brought up among all sorts of luxuries and he had no opportunity to understand grief. He was not even given a chance to know that death and decay of body are inevitable to every being. Yet, he realized that the happiness around him was not real and the ultimate reality can only be reached through realization of self, Parinirvana. But after reaching that stage, Buddha realized that his work had just begun. Apart from leading the humans toward the path of Parinirvana, he had an immediate duty to the society at large. When he took to that, he came to understand the different facets of the society, the fact that even the kings and emperors were slaves to the age old customs and manners and habits. Fortunately, he got the support and aid of a few kings and emperors, which enabled him to go ahead with his plans to reform the society. In this novel, I have tried to see Buddha, not simply as a philosopher or religious teacher, but also as a human being.
