Echoes of the Stone People: More Stories from the Land of the Shapeshifter

"Echoes of the Stone People" is the fourth book of historical fiction short stories and poetry in the Shapeshifter series about the effects of European settlement upon the Native peoples of the Northeast United States, especially New Hampshire. In total there will be seven books of short stories and poetry that will accompany the seven novels that are also planned for the series. "Echoes of the Stone People" refers to the Senikiwakw, the Stone People, who are the grandfathers and grandmothers who came before the Ash Tree People." The Ash Tree People were carved by Gchi Nwaskw, Creator, out of the ash tree after the destruction of the Stone People. The forms of the Stone People are still seen in the mountains and hills across the Land of the Dawn and inspire these stories. Today we can hear their echoes if we listen closely to their voices in the wind. The echoes of the Stone People tell the stories of those who came before us: stories of heroes, heroines, of great faith and perseverance against one of history's greatest tragedies; of hope, patience and above all else, love.
