Narrative of Sojourner Truth

These are the dictated memoirs of Sojounrer Truth, a former slave who was witness to some of the most wretched aspects of early nineteenth century American slavery. A strident abolitionist and orator, Truth’s narrative introduces the reader to the brutal treatment of slaves in New York and other northern states before abolition was fully implemented.
