Twenty-four hours later, the storm was finally over. When we went above deck, we saw how bad it had been. Armored personnel vehicles and tanks that had been tied on the decks were no longer therejust gone. Two of the ships in the convoy were badly damaged, with twisted parts of superstructures and decks strips bare. In spite of the significant damage, the ships were capable of moving on. So we continued toward Vietnam. It was trouble before trouble.
