The Owl Who Hated the Dark

Hooter, a young owl, frightened by a bat when he was very small, is afraid of the dark and won't try to fly. Left on his own by his despairing parents, he grows weak from hunger, falls from his nest, and meets a strange owl who turns out to be Beverly the pussycat. Noticing that he's squinting in the daylight and learning that he's afraid of the dark, she comes up with a solution: a doll's sunglasses. Soon Hooter is flying and visiting his parents but Beverly remains his best friend.
